cigarette smoke=pollutant

California became the first state to declare secondhand smoke a toxic air pollutant Thursday, putting tobacco fumes in the same category as diesel exhaust, arsenic and benzene because of its link to breast cancer.

Wao, cool. XD I hate it when I’m walking somewhere then all of a sudden cigarette smoke hits my nose.

But I thought this was weird:

…legislation in 2003 that would have banned smoking in motor vehicles containing young children

O.o I am, of course, against exposing children to cigarette smoke. But I’m a bit of a social conservative at times. I’m against legislating morality.

special elections

I heard the end of one news report that said some group (I don’t know who) isn’t going to support Arnold again for re-election because of his special election that’s coming up this Tuesday (but I already voted last Sunday using touchscreen, woo).

Or the way I heard it, it’s like the group is saying, “We supported you the first time so you could fix our problems in Sacramento but we’re not going to support you again because you’re trying to fix our problems.”

(And every time I ever think about anything related to the California budget, I don’t get mad at Arnold, or legislators, or Gray Davis. I get mad at the power companies in Texas who milked us for more than we’ve got. Then I get mad at Bush for not doing a single damn thing about it. [You know, maybe, as a president, make an investigation into why they charged so much?])

Happy cows?

Awwies, PETA’s a bunch of meanies. Blegh.

How green is their valley? Do they even have a valley? A lawsuit filed on Wednesday by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals challenges whether the California dairy industry’s award-winning ad campaign featuring “Happy Cows” frolicking in verdant pastures is false advertising. The suit, filed in San Francisco, asks a Superior Court judge to order the California Milk Advisory Board to permanently suspend its two-year-old television and print advertising campaign.

I mean, they have a point. But I never thought that all the cows wandered in green valleys. ^_^;; I mean, how many green valleys are there in California? All I can think of is the San Fernando Valley and that’s not green at all. And the one by Noelle’s house, if that is a valley … I’m not sure … it looks like a desert.

But those commercials are so cuuute! XD “Foot massage! Ahhhhh! *earthquake goes by* … Darn, those never last long enough.” Heehee. ^_^
