knucklecracking

Euwww, got this from something on MSN about knuckle cracking:

The sound you’re hearing is actually two sounds (researchers put microphones up to knuckles to confirm this). The first sound happens when you pull your joint and create a bubble. The second sound is the bubble popping. Joints are where two separate bones meet. Ligaments and connective tissue hold them together, in kind of a bath of thick fluid. When you pull apart a joint, it creates extra space for the fluid. So, that first bubble forms. When the bubble appears, the liquid pushes back on the ligaments, snapping them back into place.

:O I didn’t take any course on the human body; I didn’t know there was a “thick fluid” between joints. It’s things like this that make me not want to move … *coughweirdcough*

My thumb knuckle hurt for the longest time today. :( After math. :b

mallness

New entry to get away from the ramblyness.

“You don’t just say you’re not welcome because they are welcome,” she said. “We just welcome them with a parent,” she said.

Does anyone else get confused by that sentence? Don’t you think a comma would work very well between “welcome” and “because”? Otherwise, to me, it sounds like she’s contradicting herself …

I got that from this article on Yahoo! about malls setting curfews on teens. ^^;; That fits with this entry because today Mickey said he had a final and it would take only an hour or so and that he wanted to check out this shopping place that he drives by on the way home all the time.

So Mum and I went with him. While he took his final Mum and I went to the Ontario Mills Outlets. I bought this white blouse at Charlotte Russe that I’ll wear over tanktops and stuff (when it gets cooler!) and a black lace “scarf” at Anchor Blue.

At this one country store (that we were never able to look in before because we’d always gone with mah bros and daddums, who were more into the model car store :b), we bought this funny/cute card for Tadash’s birthday, something for SM00 for Christmas which I think is SO CUTE XD and it’s really cool, she’ll see on Christmas, a birthday present for Mum of a kitten figurine falling asleep on a book while she’s crouching, sooo cute, and a little eucalyptus clove scented candle for me. :)

I wish I had a digital camera. I think Hidek said his busted a little while ago. Yeah, end of August. I wonder if I should even be linking his site anymore because he’s taken to cursing on it and stuff. Actually, if I go by those standards, I shouldn’t be linking to SSH anymore because of a certain topic about guys and girls. :b~ Tadash doesn’t really want his site linked either. But he didn’t tell me to not link him. And SM00 doesn’t update her site. :( Neither does Mickey.

But anyway! I got sidetracked. I said I wished I had a digital camera. It turns out Hidek’s friend’s dad doesn’t fix cameras, he just develops film, and that maybe one of the two camera stores next to his (don’t ask) might be able to fix it. But no one’s getting off their butt and taking the camera in. >_> Actually I don’t really like the street it’s on. ^_^;;; It goes to LAX … yuckyyyy. Er. Sidetracked again. I said I want a cam so I could show a piccie of the kitty falling asleep. It’s so cute! ^_^

After the outlet mall and after finding out my phone’s reception dies in the mall (Mickey was supposed to call us after he finished his final) and after he tried calling four times we went to check out this … shopping area center thing. Not much there, really. I mean, Target, Best Buy, your average stores. But they also had a Michael’s. And they were having a 50% off sale on silk floral items. :D So I bought $30 of flowers for $15. Hehe. Now I have to remake that floral arrangement on my shelf.

The Montclair plaza was nice. The second floor was so high up, though. I didn’t like standing at the rail. ^_^;;; Oh! Westfield Shoppingtown had my mall repainted, the rails and stuff … it’s all … white. ;_; First they take out the really cool clock tower from my childhood, then they even paint over the tealness?! *sigh* So sad. Anyway.

The Montclair plaza had Anchor Blue, Forever 21, Charlotte Russe, Express, aaaand … Anime Club. I like it better than the anime store at Westside Pavilion. :b It’s brighter. And has more action figures. And more stuffed animals. And … maybe a couple more shelves of manga and DVDs.

Same amount of artbooks, though, if not less. x_x No place really sells artbooks. Except for that Comic Cellar guy at Frank & Son’s. But ew. I don’t want to go to City of Industry. And parking is really hard to find too. … But anyway.

This Anime Club store had so many posters! XD I bought an Inuyasha poster. Gehehe. It’s all pink. *laughs* But it’s not all busy and crowded or ugly like other posters I’ve seen. And it has Inuyasha on it. So I ish happy. ^_^

ramblings

I’m sitting here slowly getting more and more tense because my hair is wet and I haven’t brushed my hair yet and I know it’s going to be all puffy fluffy if I don’t … but I don’t want to go downstairs to use my brush.

Anyway. FMC is having a 13 Nights of Fright leading up to Halloween, which Neil Gaiman is hosting. ;.; We don’t get FMC. Nor do I really want it … but Neil Gaiman! *sniffles*

IE doesn’t like Y! Launch. It keeps freezing whenever I try to refresh the top 100 list. I keep trying to refresh it because it’s showing me an old cached version. Why is it cached? I have no clue. I cleared everything out and set the options as low as they’ll go but it still does that.

Interrupted because Hidek went back on his comp. 11:08 now. It took my laptop about 50 minutes to connect. Even though at the time I didn’t see any connection. Also, it took my laptop maybe 45 minutes to actually startup. My laptop doesn’t like starting up anymore. It takes about … 1–5 minutes for it to respond to a command. Then another 5 minutes maybe to go on standby. Then ten seconds to go off standby and play nicely. Daddy says I have too much going on at startup but I checked and there’s nothing new since the last time I turned stuff off. :b Ah well.

Hey, I remember. At 9:30 I took my laptop and tried to connect it through the cable but it wouldn’t take and I was getting really annoyed because my laptop used to be able to connect that way but it doesn’t now. Oh yeah. I turned it on around 8:10 and gave it to Daddy to look at at 9:00 but he didn’t because he was paying bills so at 9:30 I took it back. And my “wireless network connection status” says I’ve been connected since before 9.

Sugar dootdootdootdootdoot honey honey you are my girl dootdootdootdootdoot

Homer no!

Seagulls always stay near land. They only go out to sea to die.

I’ll be in charge of ration. See, the secret, boy, is to take tiny little bites like so.

Why couldn’t I be on one of the smart rafts? I bet they’re having the time of their lives.

Who in the world planned that father-son raft trip, anyway?

Tadash fell out of his raft. He said they were level 2 rapids. O.o

My brain is going baibai.

A real swiss army knife, cool! I stole it from that somethingsomething guy.

Classic Simpsony goodness. Yeah.

11:43 I guess I forgot about this again. :b So long.

Windows Media Player

Not that anyone cares … (saying this because … I dunno, it’s really inane? O_o)

I don’t like doing dishes. :b *goes to do dishes*

*back* I should go to bed now. Yeah. Almost 10. Oh well.

Anyway. What I wanted to say (that seemed inane) is that a few days after I installed the Windows XP SP Pack 2 I remembered why I didn’t want to install it. :b Hidek’s computer has Windows Media Player 9. The study comp has WMP 9. Mum and Daddy’s has WMP 9. I used to have WMP XP on my laptop. I Do Not Like version 9. For two main reasons:

1) It doesn’t count the number of times a song has been played … I know it was very pointless … but … I can’t help it, I have this … weird … thing … where everything has to be even. So I got addicted to making all my songs played the same number. >_> It was the main reason I stayed away from WinAmp so long. *so sad* And I didn’t want to just drop that! Kind of like Monk … He was pouring decaf and caffeinated coffee back and forth to “make them even.” XDDD I understood that part of the show completely … rather sad … also the part where he kept walking funny so he wouldn’t step on the spaces between the pavers. ^^;; It took me a long time to drop that habit. But anyway. Reason 2:

2) The columns on the lists keep readjusting so that the whole title/artist is displayed. o_< It gets really annoying when I’m scrolling through the list quickly! And I used to have the columns spaced in very exact widths, so I could read all titles but two, all artists, about half the album titles, times, and genres. And Microsoft (or whoever) had to go and idiot-proof it. Arrrrggghh. Stupid thing. *kicks*

The first thing I got over after a while. ^^;;; Just today I started re-organizing my Favorites playlist, ’cause I didn’t feel like listening to my rock playlist on WinAmp. (Yeah, all my playlists got jumbled up. O_o?) But the second thing I haven’t gotten over yet, in all the time that I’ve ever used WMP 9. *sigh* Ah well.

Last annoying thing, that didn’t have to do specifically with version 9 … I can’t move single files around. I thought I’d figured out how to do it tonight (hold down the mouse button for a second on the one file) but after a while it stopped working and I’d be highlighting all these songs … ugh. So my Favorites playlist is still more than half messed up. Hm. I think I have to update my music list … *adds that to her long to-do list for her site*

Um. Other random things. I want internet access on my cellphone. >_> I just want to be able to sign on aim on it. ^^;; I get bored between classes … especially lately since I don’t go to bed early enough and I’m tired/sleepy and I can’t keep my mind on my work or on a random book I’m reading in the library. I haven’t ready The Pain Nobody Wants in the looongest time. Dang chemistry and its intrusive ways. Oh yeah. Lab tomorrow. One where we mix scary chemicals and see reactions. Horrible. Oh yeah. o_o Gotta print those graphs. *thanks the Lord for remembering* … *thanks her spirit guide for poking her* … yeah.

I still haven’t given a name to my spirit guide. ^^;; I think the only real reason is because I don’t know if this person is male or female, and I don’t want to … erm. Call a guy Marcy or call a girl … I dunno. :b But anyway. I want aim! Hidek can sign on aim with his phone. He can’t send or receive messages, but he can sign on. And we’re not supposed to have internet access on these phones … The funny thing is, he’ll sign on, then sign off, but he’ll still show as online until he gets on a computer and signs off. Yes, we tested this thoroughly. XP And Sam apparently has mobile access as well … *jealous* I should get his number, then we could text each other. hehe.

Boingy boingy boingy boingy boingy boingy … says Tadash.

I don’t wanna go to classes. Mainly because I’m always tired and yawning and I can’t really keep my mind on everything. o_o Counterproductive, my staying up, no? Oh well. At least my professors postponed the quizzes until next week. XD

showing my ignorance … (ActiveX)

I have a bunch of ActiveX options turned off. I don’t really understand what each option does (what’s “run,” “script,” and “initialize”?). But anyway. I go to some sites and I get a “helpful” message via that new toolbar (which pops up and just shifts my whole page down which I find really annoying), Yahoo! being one of them, recently. The message reads, “Your security settings do not allow Web sites to use ActiveX controls installed on your computer. This page may not display correctly.”

Now my question is … I have ActiveX controls installed on my computer? What are ActiveX controls? I have absolutely no clue …
