dreams lengthening and shortening time

Wow. I was updating my private dreamlog (rule for myself: every new dream I have, I have to add at least two dreams to my log) and I found this dream with a reference to Harry Potter. o_o Now, for some reason, I was thinking that the dreams I had in 2001 were old. Yet, I keep thinking that it wasn’t that long ago that I read Harry Potter after Christmas. But, I guess, yeah, I read them in high school. About three and a half years ago. Hehe. I don’t know why, but I think that that’s such a long time ago. Number-wise. But when I think about back then, it doesn’t seem like such a long time ago.

Anyway! In the same dream, Magic cards and books about trains were mentioned. o_o That was a while ago! It just makes my brain do a backflip.

I’m getting interested in XHTML and validating my sites, because two people (whose journals I read on the sly) are all gungho … gung-ho … I dunno how to spell it … my typing skills are going down. Blah. Two people are really pushing it in their journals. Since I like being right, I figured I’d try it some time.

I tried it tonight. I don’t want to use Transitional, I want to use Strict. (For I am teh stubborn that way. :b) Um, I don’t know how many errors I started out with, forgot to check, but uh, I got it down to 63. ^_^;; (I’m sure there were more than 100.) So! That’s something else I could busy myself with; trying to find out how to correct these errors. (Maybe I should stop using tables for my date headers. Ehehe. And figure out how to mix tags and XHTML and Javascript.)

The good news, though, is that my CSS validates. Ahaha. Very good.

The coding for my hit counters/trackers are reeeeeally outdated, as well. Hm. Wonder how far that “Do not change the coding or your account will be terminated” legality thing goes. “But, but, but, I was just updating your coding! It was still essentially the same!” Heh. :b

Hackers target the Internet Explorer browser. “US CERT (the US Computer Emergency Readiness Team), is advising people to ditch Internet Explorer and use a different browser after the latest security vulnerability in the software was exposed.” –The Register, 6/28/04

Do note this important fact: The Wall Street Journal reported on June 28 that hackers had discovered holes in Internet Explorer that enabled them to monitor a user’s behavior to steal passwords and banking information. Some of Internet Explorer’s vulnerabilities and security holes are related to ActiveX controls, which allow hackers to load programs into your browser without your knowledge. The Netscape browser is safe against these approaches. And, unlike Internet Explorer, Netscape also makes it easy for you to view all your downloaded extensions so you can see if something is there that shouldn’t be.

I use Mozilla Firebird (I jumped on the bandwagon! XP) while on the three desktop PCs, but not on my laptop … and that’s really only because my touchpad scrolling capability doesn’t seem to work with Firebird. :/ I feel almost paralyzed without it. Okay okay, I’m lazy and don’t like having to use the scrollbar on the right. >.>

Okay, new layout. :) It’s just Avril Lavigne with a brush I made all over the piccie. ^^; Too lazy to fix up the rest of the coding ’cause my touchpad won’t scroll. >.>

For a little while after I restarted my laptop after installing the Windows updates, IE wouldn’t open. O.o And whenever I tried to open an html document on my computer it couldn’t be found. Weird. But everything works now. I hope. Yeah.

So. The other day I found this site, alavigne.com (I think it is) ’cause I wanted to see more Avril piccies of her wearing … I dunno, whatever “they” called it. Just basically what she’s wearing in the pic above. ^.^ I think she’s lucky. >O I want that skirt!

And … I have gone in less of an egl/ega direction and more in a punk goth loli … oh well! ^_^

Finally … I like Espeon, and the glowy blueyness, but I finally, finally got fed up with the thin columns. Hur hur. So uh. New layout … within the next two weeks. Hopefully. ^^;;

I think I’ve gotten tired of having a blog. I’m getting more into Livejournal (after having it for almost two years O.o), and I just don’t really feel like talking about my day anywhere … :/ Dunno what else to say. I want to keep fs.net. (Are you kidding? With all the fanlistings/cliques I have linking to it …) But I’m not really in a talkative mood at the moment. And I don’t know what else to put up here. :(
