tv, Hayden Christensen, Jewel Staite

I watched Life as a House today (missed the first 10/15 minutes of it).

Hayden Christensen can be kinda cute. *^^* But then again, I’m always for wearing black. :b So … rather contrived story, yeah, and the acting wasn’t mindblowing, (and that family and Josh … o_o what was up with them? ESPECIALLY the girl!), but it was just fun to see Hayden Christensen not being a whiny Jedi apprentice.

Once I watched … uhh, what was it called? Higher Ground. I watched an episode of that. I had no idea which character he was. @_@ But I saw Jewel Staite in it, heehee! And she was all … dressed in black. Well, in that episode, she wasn’t, but then they showed certain shots (from the past?) where she was, and I thought, ‘Cool!’ But then I never remembered to watch it again, and it disappeared anyway. T-T

Jewel Staite never seems to stay on a show very long. Space Cases, Flash Forward, Higher Ground, and Firefly (I saw one episode of that XD). Oh well.

You know, looking at this pic of Hayden with his natural hair color (on imdb.com, I didn’t go searching for it or anything), I’d have to say that I reeeeally like him with black hair more. :b But I looove black hair. Or really dark brown hair. Hehehe … ^.^;;

pink layouts, emperors, and a Sandman quote

You know what’s odd? I’ve been to … three different bookstores, and all three had only one volume of The Sandman series, and not the same one, either. And most definitely not the first one, either, otherwise I’d have it. >:

Today I finished the new layout for my diary (which you are still not allowed to read, SM00). I think I got tired of the black and darkness of the Tsuda layout, because this one’s PINK, and has white text. Well, it’s kind of a salmon/red pink. Not too bad, I don’t think. I don’t really know, I don’t hate pink, so I can’t tell if it’s bad or not. The only thing I don’t like is that I needed almost 15 images to make the layout, and I used div layers. ^^’ I’ve got a policy for my diary: simple coding, few images, simple layouts. It’s ’cause I use Netscape 4.5 (or is it 4.7?) to update my diary. Ah well. Maybe I’ll get tired of it quickly.

After dinner watched The Last Emperor with Mommy. O_O Umm … Good movie. Very. Asians look kinda cute in 20s/30s styles. ^__^ I want a haircut kinda like that wannabe pilot lady. Not so short in the back, though … I’m talking about the one she had when she first showed up. I didn’t know there was a Manchuria during World War II. Saw some footage … asked Mommy, and she said it’s probably real. *shudders* She asked, “What’s worse? The killing of [I forget the number] by one person or one million killing 200,000?”

Mm. Anyway.

“Without individuals we see only numbers: a thousand dead, a hundred thousand dead, ‘casualties may rise to a million.’ With individual stories, the statistics become people—but even that is a lie, for the people continue to suffer in numbers that themselves are numbing and meaningless. Look, see the child’s swollen, swollen belly, and the flies that crawl at the corners of his eyes, his skeletal limbs: will it make it easier for you to know his name, his age, his dreams, his fears? To see him from the inside? And if it does, are we not doing a disservice to his sister, who lies in the searing dust beside him, a distorted, distended caricature of a human child? And there, if we feel for them, are they now more important to us than a thousand other children touched by the same famine, a thousand other young lives who will soon be food for the flies’ own myriad squirming children?”
Neil Gaiman, American Gods

You know … that doesn’t make much sense to me. Of course, it can’t help that both times I read it was after midnight. But it’s still worded so nicely …

Mitsuwa, Ringu 2; tv, Ewan McGregor, RRK

Mommy and I got treats at Mitsuwa. We got nori and boro and rice candy. w00t! Except … they cheated me. ¬_¬ It saaaays “free children’s STICKER inside” and they give me a temp tattoo. Boo.

Mommy and I saw “Ringu 2” at Mitsuwa. Actually, I think that store is called Book Market or something. (It says “Recycle!” on their bag, haha.) Anyway. We were looking at the back and then Mommy put it back and as she was putting it back I noticed this tiny picture in the corner and I picked it up again and showed it to Momma and said, “That’s creepy.” It was just a picture of hair hanging off something with a white sheet covering the head and body. ^.^;; But it still gave me chills. >.> Yeah. I wanna see the Japanese version. Muuust haaave! Also the Animatrix. Hehehe. We watched the second one in multimedia. It was cool.

After dinner today I flipped through my favorites and Ewan McGregor was on the International Film Channel. I think he did an independent film recently? I’m not sure. It looked interesting, the little clip I saw … He said he doesn’t limit himself to just Hollywood films, he bases it on whether he can get excited about the script, and I thought … ‘He liked the Phantom Menace script?’ Well, maybe it looked good while it was on paper or something …

Oh yeah. I saw the last ten minutes or so of Rurouni Kenshin today. I saw what’s-his-name, the guy Noelle is talking about, the “12-year-old assassin.” :b Yeah, no kidding. x.x I don’t like his voice. I also don’t like Misao’s voice. Wai wai! I saw Misao today! Coool! :D (‘Cause Kaoru was such a disappointment :b) And people kept calling Kenshin a bum. Haha. Oh yeah. What’s-his-name. The guy who’s being called “Leader.” (I say, “Take me to your Lee-dur! :B” whenever I hear it. ^^;;) He had those two blades out of one sheath. Hehehe. nifty. Yeah.

The Ring

I saw The Ring. :D Not as scary as I thought … or maybe it’s because I inadvertently found out some of the stuff that was going to happen. ^^;;; But anyway. I thought What Lies Beneath was scarier. They didn’t use scary make-up, either. Well, not as much as in The Ring, anyway. They did a tiny bit.

Actually, I missed one part because I couldn’t stand it and covered my eyes. ^.^ Also, I saw the girl who played Samara when she was on that MTV awards thing. Hm. I saw it last year because of Natalie Portman, and I saw it this year because of tATu. Both times, the reason I watched didn’t come on the screen until the last 25 minutes of the show. -.-;; Anyway. Yeah. She was on that awards show, and she was adorable and couldn’t talk for a while. So that may have made it a bit less scary too …

After it was over Daddy said, “Well, should we get the Japanese version?” Me: “Yeah!” Mommy: “Oh, is there a Japanese version? I don’t think I could watch Japanese horror films. They’re too creepy.”

One time, in 7th or 8th grade, I showed my friend one story from Kwaidan, the “Black Hair” one, it was like 4 in the afternoon, and at the end she freaked out and ran upstairs. O.o I don’t think it’s that creepy … I don’t know, maybe I should watch it again. :D Then again, she tended to exaggerate things to get attention, so I don’t know if she truly was afraid, or if she was just acting it up. But Kwaidan is still creepy, regardless. Watch it! ^__^ “Vastly different from the more overt shocks of Western horror, the film casts a supernatural spell that remains timelessly effective.” (from Amazon.com)

I don’t want the world

I was looking at b2 (don’t have a link; too lazy to get it) because, yeah, I’m kinda getting tired of rebuilding stuff … but I don’t know php. So I have to learn php. I don’t know where to look for that. ^^;; Eh, yeah. I have other things to do, though … like stuff with IAT.

I haven’t touched that for a long time. I uploaded the fanlistings. But that was it. I have to update STF and BB and BG and … well I guess I have to update other sites, too, but I don’t particularly care to do so. ^^;;; Also Elsewhere. I stopped drawing. But I have very old drawings I have to scan and put on the site. And I also have very old drawings I’ve already scanned in but I have yet to put them on the site.

Anyway. Last night Mommy got me to watch The Dead Zone on the Mystery channel. Yeah … Christopher Walken is kinda creepy. ^_^; But it was good. At the end I said, “That was like the season finale I watched before.” Yeah. I wonder why they (the writers) did it that way.

Um. I slept until noon today. Not really. (Actually, it was more like 2. >.>;;;) But I just read another rant about blogs. “A meandering, blatantly uninteresting online diary that gives the author the illusion that people are interested in their stupid, pathetic life. Consists of such riveting entries as ‘homework sucks’ and ‘I slept until noon today.'”

*shrugs* I’m not complaining. This isn’t a counter-rant or anything. I don’t know why I have a blog. ^^;; But oh well. I’m thinking. I guess … I dunno. There are like some people who have a blog because they have friends who like to know what’s going on. Like Dave or … I don’t know her name. I read her blog anyway. O_o Weirdo. Anyway. Yeah. I dunno. I’m done.

Oh. And homework sucks. XP
