are you who you wanna be?

Why am I still up? I don’t really know. o_O It was midnight such a short while ago … I brushed my teeth, then sat down at my desk, and I decided to make a header for lj.com/thefreakishjedi. I’m trying to use Ellie from Degrassi TNG. ^^’ But the images aren’t that great. :/ So I was messing around in PSP and PS both (believe me, it made me dizzy) trying to make it look better but blah I’m just not that good so then I decided to make it a grungy image and stuff but then I didn’t really know how to make it grungy without grungy brushes, but I don’t like using brushes because then I always have to give credit for the brushes and it’s like I didn’t do the work and uh this run-on sentence is getting boring so yeah.

Then I went searching for grunge brush making tutorials, and I found lots of nice ones, but since it’s past midnight I don’t really feel like reading the instructions and I’m just skimming and that’s taking me longer because I keep going back to reread stuff I didn’t really take in. Also, they’re good tutorials, but I just need more practice. Or more sleep. Or both. :b Oh well. Yeah.

I was thinking about using this one header offered on the Ev_Icons community on LJ. It looks sooo nice. But, you know me, I just need to be picky that way and make allll my own stuff. Blah.

Anyway. What did I do today? I went on my laptop and updated about half the codes on my joined page. Yeah, that took me a few hours. ^^;; But isn’t it so pweeeetty? :D In the middle of that I was interrupted by Uncle R and Grandma and Grandpa coming over with Chinese take-out for Grandpa’s birthday. :D So we ate and sat around for a few hours. Then I finished my codes. Then … stuff that I can’t really remember.

Then at 10:30 Mommy had me use PayPal to pay for my two ebay items. I’m wondering if I should regret buying these two things. ^^;; One’s a velvet dress, shortsleeved with shortish skirt, and the other’s a short velvet skirt. Is velvet a very terrible material? I was thinking that maybe I could kind of uh, make adjustments to *coughtotallyruincough* the dress and make it kind of EGL-inspired. It wouldn’t really be EGL because I’m not that into ruffles and because the skirt is too short (unless I put something under to lengthen it? *shrug* and I don’t think there’s much room to wear petticoats underneath.

Oh well. Aaaaanyway. On Saturday Mickey made me wash my car with him. *sniffle* He was so mean. :b Blegh, whatever, I was being my usual slow self and he washed over half the car, and he also did everything that had to do with the hose (too cooooold), and he washed my wheel rims for me. And he used all his car products that he bought with his own money. ^-^ My brother’s so wonderful. He also put air in my tires. ^^; I’m not strong enough to attach the pump to the tire. Blah. Weakling, I am. And now my car is all clean and shinny. Yes, shinny.

Yeahhh … now, tomorrow I’ll go to bed at a reasonable time … I hope. Well, at least it’s not the weekend and Mum won’t wake me up early (ie 10 am :b) to eat breakfy. Mm. Dunno. I really should stop going on the computer after dinner. x_< My will is slowly being chipped away by the ebil compi.

vroomy vroom vroom

Mickey told me today (well, he probably mentioned it before, but I didn’t bother to remember ^^;;) that my car has a good acceleration rate (or something), and I said, “Woohoo!” then thought, ‘Vroom vrooom!’ XDDD But then he rubbed in that “his car” (he wants an Impala) gets better gas mileage. ¬.¬ Yeah, yeah. (I don’t know, speed or economy? Exhiliration or money? Hmmm …)

goldfish blender; kids’ books; cars

On Yahoo! right now: “Dane Acquitted in Goldfish Blender Case” O_O!!!

Mon May 19, 2:12 PM ET

COPENHAGEN, Denmark—A Danish art museum director was acquitted of animal cruelty charges Monday after a court ruled that a display featuring goldfish inside working blenders was not cruel.

The display at the Trapholt Art Museum in Kolding featured 10 blenders and invited visitors to blend the fish if they wanted to. Somebody did in early 2000—and two goldfish were ground up. [X.X]

Animals right activists complained that the exhibit was cruel. Museum director Peter Meyer was fined $315 by police, but he refused to pay and went on trial in Kolding, 125 miles west of the capital, Copenhagen.

Judge Preben Bagger ruled Monday that Meyer did not have to pay the fine because the fish were killed “instantly” and “humanely.” [o_O]

During the two-day trial, a zoologist and a representative of blender manufacturer Moulinex said the fish likely died within a second after the blender started.

It was not known who turned the blenders on.

(Emphasis in article mine.)

Yuuck. Do fish go to Heaven? Is there going to be a movie All Fish Go to Heaven? Is that going to be the sequel for Little Nemo? Is it going to be rated G and geared towards kids? See your buddy die and go to Heaven! *ahem* Anyway. I’m being weird. Not out of the ordinary, but still … should keep quiet about. *shifts eyes around room* Keep people from pointing and staring.

We got rid of that book of weird true things. Dangit. I wanted to show Adam that Lizzie Borden story. Owell. I think we also got rid of Grump and Pout. XP I wonder if there was ever a book Mommy and/or Daddy bought specifically because they thought of me when they saw the title. There was Grump and Pout for Mickey, and The Day Henry Cleaned His Room (something like that) for Hidek. Hah. They were funny and mean at the same time. ^.^;;; Hidek got a kick out of it. Mickey was grumpy about his. >b

Anyway. One thing that happened this weekend. Probably one of like two or three things. I was finishing Sybil and I realized it was missing 20–30 pages of the last few chapters. Grrrrrrrrs. Cruel much. I read and read for … how many days? Wednesday, or Thursday, to Sunday, then I can’t read the ENDING. Um. I can pretty much tell what the ending is anyway. >_> But still. It’s all so … unresolved. Which reminds me. How do I return something to Amazon? How do I turn into a pissy unreasonable customer?

Um. Well I started kind of to continue reading Time Enough for Love but then last night I stayed up for about an hour (past 1) reading Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe. <.<;;; *coughs*

Hmmm … “Customers who shopped for Asian Americans also shopped for: Strangers from a Different Shore by Ronald Takaki, Asian American Dreams by Helen Zia, Becoming Asian American by Nazli Kibria, A Different Mirror by Ronald T. Takaki, Yellow by Frank H. Wu, and … ‘Fallen’ —Evanescence”

O.o Iiinteresting … I don’t have any money though, anyway.

Yesterday on the way to the mall I noticed how dreary colored and muted colored all the cars are. One lime green Bug drove past while Daddy and I waited at the light. *sigh* Next car I get is gonna be bright red. >D But that probably won’t be for another 9 or 10 years …

Dodge Stratus

We bought the Dodge Stratus today. I don’t think it’s my car. It’s too big for small me. I don’t fit. I don’t fit in an Expedition, but still … I think I fit in the van. I likies the car. :D I think I like that it has high crash test ratings more than anything else. I like the stereo sound. :b

The Carmax is close to LAX. Which means low-flying planes. O_O Very low. So low I actually felt they were bigger than me. ^_^; I realized low planes freak the heck out of me. Hmm, I wonder why. *rolleyes*

Joseph said he remembered me. O.O Why do people remember me?! I’m the molding-into-the-background person! *ponders*

baibai Expedition

No more Expedition!! *sniffle* We got rid of it yesterday, and bought a Chrysler Town & Country. ^.^ From SUV to minivan, seems strange to me.

I still don’t like minivans much. It’s all cramped and stuffilies … even though this one is as wide as the Expedition and only 8 or so inches shorter. It’s the chairs I tell ya! The headrests give me the feeling I’m going to hit my teeth on them if I lean forward. ^_^;;

I don’t like the headrests in this car, they lean forward too much, and it hurts my neck. Especially since when I try to sleep my head rolls forward. urgh.

Buuuuut … I like the mileage, and the fuel tank capacity. ^u^ It makes much more sense. And the payments on this car dropped about $50/month or so … so it’s all good. I’ll just have to adjust … >.<

People in America like captain’s chairs. Having a split bench in the front brought down the price of the Expedition. I think that’s stupid. The middle seat is a ninth seat, and it’s a nicer place to put things than on the floor. *shrugs* People are weiiiiiird.

Ooh yeah, we bought the car from CarMax, $7,000 cheaper than the MSRP, or whatever. That’s so cool!
