Base 24 vs. Base 10; SF trip

Out of the blue one day…

Mama: “Don’t you think we should work on a Base 24 instead of Base 10?”
Me: Base what and Base 10? *thinking aliens and secret government stuff* Ohh, Base 10 “Why?”
Mama: “Because 24 can be divided by 3 and 10 can’t.”
Me: “What do you mean? When you divide 10 by 3 you get a third.”
Mama: “Yeah, I know, but it never ends. It keeps going, 3.3333 … With 24 at least you get a whole number.”
Me: “When you divide 10 by 3 you get one-third, and when you divide 24 by 3 you get one-third.”
Mama: “… I have to rethink that.”

^.^; Umm, a convo I mean to put up when it actually happened, but forgot, and now I suddenly remembered, so now it’s up! ^_^

And yeah, me and Mommy and Daddy and Mickey and Hidek went to … San Luis Obispo, Apple Farm Restaurant/Inn, then on to San Jose/Santa Clara (I think … ?_?), then down to San Fransisco, Oakland, Back to SF, then hooooome … I’ll write about it later … I hope.

Padmé seems to be able to get up now, since whenever I look in the cage she’s right side up. Either that, or she doesn’t lie on her back anymore. But anyway, isn’t she the cute little piggie! ^_^

Cattre’s been limping since last night or so. We don’t know why. Hidek noticed it first. O_o Mama thinks it’s ’cause she fell off the catwalk, and that she’s not sleeping up there anymore, but I saw her up there once, so I don’t know.

Also, Shadow seems to throw up when I don’t give him the Petromalt for a few days. Even though the instructions are “every day until symptoms disappear, then once every week” which I do, but he barfs whenever I stop giving it to him! So Mama said I should give it to him every other day. Gave it to him today. Heh, the night he barfed, he was sitting on the sofa, on my book, and I picked him up so he’d barf in the kitchen. We were hurrying and everything, but he didn’t make it, so he threw up in the entree, and he spit up on his paws too. :| When I cleaned it all up, I felt really nauseous. It was the night I watched Monk. :D Thursday.

laptop; Lirael; books, reading

Wheee, my laptop came today. :D It’s heavy. T-T And the case is heavy too. O.? Umm, Hidek turned it on. ¬_¬ And I don’t want to turn it off, cause … well, I’m not at the main screen, it’s a screen saying I have to read … stuff, and then press any key on the keyboard to say I’ve read it, and I don’t want to read it, so I don’t want to press keys on the keyboard either. And I don’t want to just turn it off because … I think that would be bad? ^_^;;

Um, did I ever say? I finished reading Lirael. Last Wednesday. ;_; Are authors allowed to do that? Make a whole long really good and juicy book, then make it “to be continued”??? Hmm, I don’t really mind, since it just means more goodness from Garth Nix, but still … when is Abhorsen coming out? :( *checks Amazon* “This item will be published in January 2003.” Wahhh!!! *sniffles* How will I live?

Oyeah, Hidek, Mama, and I went to Super Crown on Sunday, and the new ownership really really really … stinks. There were two shelves of sci-fi (two Star Wars books O_O) and the Young Adult and “chapter books” were still stuck together. >_< Seriously, does this tell me I’m supposed to move on from Young Adult? grar. They didn’t have Caroline B. Cooney, either.

So we went to Barnes & Noble, at the mall, and they didn’t have For All Time either. ;_; But I bought Episode Zero, Chobits 1, Crown Duel (double book version *dances*), and Witch Child. Born Blue still isn’t in paperback. *ponders* So, I read Episode Zero, and spent last night reading Chobits, then had a really weird dream that I don’t really remember. ^_^;

And Simpsons is in Spanish again. O.o What’s going on?

1:24 Mommy isn’t home yet. Wow, the laptop’s been on for quite a while …

Padmé and Pigtre seem all right. But Padmé still flops over. And I keep forgetting Mickey doesn’t have any pig duties. >_< I had to clean the cage for me, and he was so nice, and did the woodshavings for me. :D

Shadow was coughing and hacking, I think. Might have been another cat, or maybe even just the chair dragging across the floor. o_o Either way, I caught Shadow using the cat toy (and he freaked ^.^) and gave him the hairball stuff, which he shook part of off on me. I fed that to Dusty. And smushed a dab on Cattre. Wulfie wasn’t around.

Pigtre looked like a happy pig today. :b Don’t ask how. She was just sitting at the pellet bowl, all puffed up, and I called her happy pig. So yeah, she might become happy pig from now on. I don’t know what Padmé is yet. :(
