Gran Turismo

I listened to Gran Turismo (I forgot I had the whole album on Portibale) and I got that feeling from that Christmas. I guess it was two years ago. I can never remember the gifts from Christmas. Isn’t that horrible?

Well, last year Noelle got me that Audrey Hepburn layout. So prettyful and elegant … hehe. I forget the year before. ._.

I forget when I got my Lisa Loeb CD. I know it was the time we had Christmas at my cousin’s house. I guess I got it the same time I got Gran Turismo.

Anyway. That Christmas was the first time we went to the Del Amo mall. I got Mickey to play Gran Turismo as we were almost there, and Daddy said, “Boy, this sure is great Christmas music!” o_o;; *coughs*

bad mood, computer complaints

I think my laptop’s going to crash. It’s going slowly. I hope it bites the big one.

It’s probably just the Norton AntiVirus scan thing, though. Hopefully.

How did I ever get so many files on my laptop???

Why do people open my bedroom door and then walk out and leave it open? Feckin annoying. Especially the cats, because when I say hi they stare at me like AHH! then leave. -_-

135298 files. 45 minutes and 3 seconds. Aaaaaaaaauugh.

once again

I’m boooored (’cause … fun was dispersed earlier) and huuuuungry (’cause … I woke up at 11 and didn’t eat lunch at 12) and so … Wednesday What-If (entirely too lazy to a href it, maybe I’ll do it later, but just look at some previous entry)

1. What if you got to choose what house to be in? (For those who don’t know… Gryffindor: brave/noble, Hufflepuff: loyal/kind, Ravenclaw: smart/clever, or Slytherin: cunning/evil.)
Then gee, I sure would struggle and suffer in Ravenclaw, wouldn’t I! :B Nah, I guess I’d choose Hufflepuff …

2. What if you got to choose a character with whom to “hook up”? (Sorry to those who haven’t read the books, can’t help you here.)
Umm … I’d still choose Matt?

3. What if you got to choose what kind of wand you received, how long would it be, what would it be made out of, and what would be inside it? (For those who don’t know: wands can be made up of such combinations as 6-inch ash containing dragon heartstrings, or 11.5-inch oak containing unicorn hairs, et cetera.)
I don’t like wands. I don’t like waving them around. (“You’re gonna put someone’s eye out with that thing!”)

4. What if you had to pick one animal to take with you to Hogwarts as a pet (cat, owl, toad or rat), which one, and why that animal?
Owl because … it’s trained to come back to me. A cat would come and go as it pleases. Besides, owl seems like the coolest answer. :b

5. What if you had to endure one of the three tasks from Book Four, which one and why? (For those of you who haven’t read up, the tasks were… #1: face a fully-grown nesting dragon with nothing but a wand; #2: survive underwater for an hour to rescue your best friend from its murky depths; or #3: find your way to the center of a hedge maze that is chock-full of magical obstacles.)
Three … maybe … can’t really remember the fourth book. ^^;; I read it … two years ago? Over two years ago.

Mmm … boro … *drools and chows down*

night hours

Last night (or this morning …) I stayed up until past 5. ^^;;; I stayed up so late I thought, ‘Hm, just another hour and a half until everyone wakes up. Maybe I’ll try to stay up.’ But no, I fell asleep. Haha! Like the first night in … so many nights that I haven’t tried for over an hour to fall asleep. x.x; I woke up at around noon … (better than 1:30/2 like other days ^^;;). 7 hours of sleep. :) Hahaha … Well, yesterday I read this thing in the Health section of LA Times. It’s “A night owl resets his body clock” by Joshua Tompkins.

Millions of Americans are night owls, routinely staying up past 2 in the morning and sleeping until noon whenever possible.

… left to set my own hours as a freelance writer, I watched my schedule drift later than ever. Efforts to turn in at a decent hour proved fruitless, even on days when I had managed to get up early. Around 11 p.m., an exasperating second wind would swirl up and keep me awake for hours. I’d wake up around noon, finish “breakfast” by 1 p.m. and curse yet another truncated, unproductive workday.

Scientists consider an unwillingly postponed sleep schedule to be a medical condition called delayed sleep phase syndrome, or DSPS. Caused by an irregularity of the circadian rhythms that govern the body clock, this and other sleep rhythm disorders most probably result from a combination of environmental and genetic factors, says Dr. Michael Wincor, an associate professor at USC’s schools of pharmacy and medicine. Because relatively few people seek treatment for it, estimates of the prevalence of DSPS are imprecise. Most researchers believe that 4% or fewer adults have the condition.

Experts agree that it is more widespread among adolescents than adults, with about 7% of teenagers having the condition, according to a 1989 report by the Journal of Sleep Research. Studies have shown that many teens possess slightly delayed body clocks, remaining energetic through the evening and typically requiring 8 1/2 to 9 1/2 hours of sleep.

DSPS is also common among college students, says Wincor. “On a daily basis, I see people with at least mild delayed sleep phase syndrome,” he says. “They’re accustomed to going to bed at 1 a.m. or 2 a.m. and being able to sleep until 10 a.m.”

Sleeping pills can’t remedy DSPS, so physicians sometimes prescribe chronotherapy, in which the patient goes to bed three hours later each night until he or she rounds the clock dial to the desired schedule. That is as laborious as it sounds, and those who complete it (usually missing a week of work to do so) must strictly adhere to the new routine or risk total relapse. Taking melatonin, the hormone normally secreted at night to help regulate sleep, can correct the problem in some cases.

The most effective therapy, however, is light therapy, according to sleep researchers.

*probably took too much of that article* ^^;;;; Rest of the article may be read here (requires registration).

Eh, yeah. Dunno why I stayed up past 5, though. ^^;;; I wasn’t trying that cycling through thing (don’t like the idea of sleeping in the middle of the day x_x). *shrugs* Weird.

only the end

I bought three CDs today: Rooney, Jason Mraz, Bowling for Soup (with Girl All the Bad Boys Want ^_^).

Hehehe … I went to Bowling For Soup’s website before. I’d heard one of their songs. I don’t think it was Girl All the Bad Boys Want. I think it was before I heard that. I thought they seemed cool (in a, you know, dorky way, or something …), but I didn’t think of buying their CD then. I forget why. Oh well. I got their latest album now. :B

And the Jason Mraz one is nice, but I’m not that into it. I thought that was how I’d feel about it … but I bought it anyway. (Methinks someone is music-starved. x_x)

And Rooney. Wooo! :D People say they have an 80s-style sound, but I don’t think so. I mean, unless all the 80s songs I’ve heard so far are just the most popular most played ones, and there’re other songs that Rooney sounds like … I think they sound reminiscent of 60s tunes or something. Hidek said they sound too 50s. I said, “50s?! Have you even heard 50s music?!” I dunno … ^^;; Maybe I’m all wrong too … *shrugs*
