older than you’ve ever been…

Okay, I don’t remember any other instances, but lately I’ve been getting hit with these moments where I go, Whoa, I’m getting older.

Like last Friday (or maybe it was the previous Friday) Mickey was pulling out of the driveway and driving down the street and I just found it so odd that My Brother Owns a Car. A whole, big, huge car. That is many many many times his size and weight. He’s never owned something so big. And he’s in control of it.

That may be odd enough … but I’m sure I’ve had that feeling at least once more.

And … I have a car. I don’t find that as odd for some reason. Maybe because of that whole … this is the oldest I’ve ever been, I can’t remember being older, all my previous memories are from the standpoint of … this is the oldest I’ve ever been.

I’m probably rambling. Oh well.

It’s not like I don’t like not being a kid anymore, or growing old (I hope I’m not that superficial >_>) … I guess it’s just how things change. I don’t go home after school every day anymore and play with my brothers!

I was thinking of Micro Machines either earlier today or over the weekend, also. Micro Machines? I don’t know, these little car things … smaller than Hot Wheels … they also sold these … playsets, or something, when they’re open the cars can drive all over them up in the mountain and down to the gas station, and when they’re closed it was a gasoline can. I forget what the other one was.

Bah! *goes about doing something else*

dreams lengthening and shortening time

Wow. I was updating my private dreamlog (rule for myself: every new dream I have, I have to add at least two dreams to my log) and I found this dream with a reference to Harry Potter. o_o Now, for some reason, I was thinking that the dreams I had in 2001 were old. Yet, I keep thinking that it wasn’t that long ago that I read Harry Potter after Christmas. But, I guess, yeah, I read them in high school. About three and a half years ago. Hehe. I don’t know why, but I think that that’s such a long time ago. Number-wise. But when I think about back then, it doesn’t seem like such a long time ago.

Anyway! In the same dream, Magic cards and books about trains were mentioned. o_o That was a while ago! It just makes my brain do a backflip.

voila

Christmas layout. :) The image is from this Christmas picture book I have. ^^ My aunt got it for me when I was a kid. And back then I didn’t understand the words because they’re scriptures. :b This is … uhh, something in Luke 2. I forget.

Hm. I’m trying to upload my graphics webpage to inangeling-dot-net but in IE I keep getting asked for a login after a minute, and LeechFTP and WS_FTP both tell me there are too many connections from my IP (3). *shrugs* I restarted, but it still says the same thing. ._.

And now I’m on break for almost a month! XD The geology final wasn’t thaaat bad … but I wouldn’t be surprised if I got a B on it. :( (But I think I still have an A in the class. ^^)

It was windy on campus and in the whole valley today! o_o Mum and Auntie and Noelle and I were sitting in the car in the parking lot and we could feel the car rock. That was fun. Haha. But then I drove home on the 118 (instead of the 101) and there were these trucks that were weaving in the lanes. Since they’re a lot less wind resistant than other cars, I was over to one side of my lane as far as I could go. ^^;;; ‘Cause there are three lanes and they were in the slow lane and I didn’t want to go in the fast lane with those winds.

Now I’m kinda thinking, ‘I don’t want to spend a whole month on the computer. That’s kind of boring. And a waste.’ But what else can I do? [reeeead] But that’s only good for a couple hours or so. I don’t want to watch tv either. [tv’s more wasteful] Just another option. I dunno. Maybe I’ll clean out my closet and desk and dresser. ^^;;; Wooo, isn’t that ever so exciting?

My most favorite Christmas present ever was my guinea pig, Buba. :) I loooooove my Bubbums!

My most memorable Christmas present ever was a red four-square ball my mom got me. ^_^ It’s ’cause I wasn’t expecting it at all (ours is a family of wishlists) and yet it was such a great present. I got lots of playtime out of it. XD

Gran Turismo

I listened to Gran Turismo (I forgot I had the whole album on Portibale) and I got that feeling from that Christmas. I guess it was two years ago. I can never remember the gifts from Christmas. Isn’t that horrible?

Well, last year Noelle got me that Audrey Hepburn layout. So prettyful and elegant … hehe. I forget the year before. ._.

I forget when I got my Lisa Loeb CD. I know it was the time we had Christmas at my cousin’s house. I guess I got it the same time I got Gran Turismo.

Anyway. That Christmas was the first time we went to the Del Amo mall. I got Mickey to play Gran Turismo as we were almost there, and Daddy said, “Boy, this sure is great Christmas music!” o_o;; *coughs*

goldfish blender; kids’ books; cars

On Yahoo! right now: “Dane Acquitted in Goldfish Blender Case” O_O!!!

Mon May 19, 2:12 PM ET

COPENHAGEN, Denmark—A Danish art museum director was acquitted of animal cruelty charges Monday after a court ruled that a display featuring goldfish inside working blenders was not cruel.

The display at the Trapholt Art Museum in Kolding featured 10 blenders and invited visitors to blend the fish if they wanted to. Somebody did in early 2000—and two goldfish were ground up. [X.X]

Animals right activists complained that the exhibit was cruel. Museum director Peter Meyer was fined $315 by police, but he refused to pay and went on trial in Kolding, 125 miles west of the capital, Copenhagen.

Judge Preben Bagger ruled Monday that Meyer did not have to pay the fine because the fish were killed “instantly” and “humanely.” [o_O]

During the two-day trial, a zoologist and a representative of blender manufacturer Moulinex said the fish likely died within a second after the blender started.

It was not known who turned the blenders on.

(Emphasis in article mine.)

Yuuck. Do fish go to Heaven? Is there going to be a movie All Fish Go to Heaven? Is that going to be the sequel for Little Nemo? Is it going to be rated G and geared towards kids? See your buddy die and go to Heaven! *ahem* Anyway. I’m being weird. Not out of the ordinary, but still … should keep quiet about. *shifts eyes around room* Keep people from pointing and staring.

We got rid of that book of weird true things. Dangit. I wanted to show Adam that Lizzie Borden story. Owell. I think we also got rid of Grump and Pout. XP I wonder if there was ever a book Mommy and/or Daddy bought specifically because they thought of me when they saw the title. There was Grump and Pout for Mickey, and The Day Henry Cleaned His Room (something like that) for Hidek. Hah. They were funny and mean at the same time. ^.^;;; Hidek got a kick out of it. Mickey was grumpy about his. >b

Anyway. One thing that happened this weekend. Probably one of like two or three things. I was finishing Sybil and I realized it was missing 20–30 pages of the last few chapters. Grrrrrrrrs. Cruel much. I read and read for … how many days? Wednesday, or Thursday, to Sunday, then I can’t read the ENDING. Um. I can pretty much tell what the ending is anyway. >_> But still. It’s all so … unresolved. Which reminds me. How do I return something to Amazon? How do I turn into a pissy unreasonable customer?

Um. Well I started kind of to continue reading Time Enough for Love but then last night I stayed up for about an hour (past 1) reading Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe. <.<;;; *coughs*

Hmmm … “Customers who shopped for Asian Americans also shopped for: Strangers from a Different Shore by Ronald Takaki, Asian American Dreams by Helen Zia, Becoming Asian American by Nazli Kibria, A Different Mirror by Ronald T. Takaki, Yellow by Frank H. Wu, and … ‘Fallen’ —Evanescence”

O.o Iiinteresting … I don’t have any money though, anyway.

Yesterday on the way to the mall I noticed how dreary colored and muted colored all the cars are. One lime green Bug drove past while Daddy and I waited at the light. *sigh* Next car I get is gonna be bright red. >D But that probably won’t be for another 9 or 10 years …
