state of my internetness address

I haven’t really been on the computer much lately … which can technically be called a lie. What I mean is I’m not spending almost the whole day on the computer. I may get on in the morning (11ish), after lunch (1ish), or in the evening (5ish). The times I get on in the morning or after lunch are the times I go on someone else’s computer so that I get off in a couple hours or so.

Most of my time I’m filling requests for layouts. Or reading my lj friends page. That’s what I do daily. Once a week on the weekends I update [my fanlistings (link to iat f-f)]. Every few days I read blogs/journals.

On Saturday Mum started taking the paint off the front porch. To explain … there’re three layers of paint, we found out: the grey-blue paint my parents put on it when they first bought the house; the maroon paint they were trying to cover up; and to Mum’s surprise, fire engine red paint. The blue and maroon layers come off nicely just like the picture on the paint remover can, but the red paint does nothing but liquify then dry back up. Mum thinks there’s lead in the paint which prevents it from peeling like the newer layers of paint. Luckily, though, we found out that turpentine will remove the red paint, when used in conjuntion with the paint remover (even though it says on the can to not mix with other substances, haha). It just takes a long time. So every day we’re outside scrubbing the porch for two hours or, more often, longer.

It’s amazing how, when I take into account stuff I do when I randomly get off the computer and walk around the house, and other stuff like eating, that those two hours mean I lose a lot out of the day. So I haven’t really done any of the stuff I wanted to do over the summer. :( But I’ll make a list now! Just to remind myself. Or guilt myself. Or something.

  • ✓ WordPress install for new dreamlog
  • ✓ input all old entries into WordPress x.x
  • ✓ credit all (as many as possible) lyrics in [Lyrically Longing]
  • add more lyrics to lxl
  • join lots and lots of fanlistings for stuff from my childhood
  • make a website for Amy Lee’s fashion (much like Padme’s Wardrobe … except without the niftyness and multiple pictures and neato layout and overall ubertasticness)
  • finish remaking jeans into a skirt (find fabric!)
  • make a subsection in SMC for pictures of collections I have (eg Snoopys, manga, books, playing cards … whatever; this is mostly for when I’m bored, which evidently ain’t happening soon)
  • READ *g*

But at least I managed to clean my room and clean off my desk. Although it’s not really noticeable now … *cough*

Odd, even though I’ve taken to staying up way late again (*smashy*), I still haven’t got near enough time as I used to. *goes to bed now*

use the spork, Luke

I live in a family of dorks, muahahaha.

Last week I went with Mum to the market and I bought a box of Honey Smacks. I didn’t notice when I grabbed it that they were giving something away inside (although Mace Windu posing on the box should have been a big clue), but they were. A “light-up saberSPOON.”

Next morning Mum told me about the spoony goodness. She said when Daddy saw the box he opened it up, took out the spoon and assembled it together. Then she said she wanted to show it to me, but she couldn’t find it, so maybe Daddy took it with him. I said, “Did Daddy take it to school to show his frieeends?”

So when he came home I asked him if he took it to work and he said yeah. I said, “Did you show it to everyone?” “Not everyone, but I showed some people.”

My dad is over 50. He works on computers. And he shows up to work with a “saberspoon” that lights up. *grin*

Then Mum made a comment about how it should have been a fork, not a spoon (Simpsons reference…), and that maybe we should cut it up to make it into a fork. But, my brother took that idea and … see for yourself. [He cut notches out of the end of the spoon, turning it into a spork.]

I love my family.

(Also, false advertising!! It doesn’t light up all the way!)

haaaail~ and cameraaa~

Darn, I somehow lost the picture I took of hail in our backyard … yeah, hail in L.A. Cool, no? I forget when that happened. Friday night? Or was it Thursday? Eh, around 3:15 am anyway. They weren’t that big. Daddy said maybe nickel-sized. *shrug*

I still can’t believe I lost that piccie. One moment I’m looking at the camera, and it says 16 megs of space free, then I hook it up to the computer where it says no pictures, and the next I look at the camera again and it says 31.4 megs free. *weep*

Well, I’m out $430, but I gots a camera. XD Canon Powershot S500 Digital Elph. And I should be getting $60 rebate. And I got a free 128 mb card with it, at Best Buy. Bweeeee

vacation, all I ever wanted

I had to turn off the commenting for non-registered peoples ’cause that casino spam bot thing found this site and has been posting ads all over my entries … grrrs. Sorry.

Hm … technically the end of my first week of vacation … hehe. What have I done … lots of computer stuff of course, cleaned my room closet and desk (yay, more space!), went to the dentist (he was an extra in Memoirs of a Geisha!), bought a Blender magazine with Gwen Stefani on the cover … I guess that’s pretty much it.

I haven’t seen Closer yet. :( I thought we were going Thursday but then when I said, “So we’re going to Century City after my dentist’s appointment?” Mommy had no idea what I was talking about. She would have been willing to go except Hidek said he had to go to Mitsuwa to buy sushi for a party he had in one class or another on Friday. So … meh. We’re gonna go Monday.

My new CD player for my car finally came in! XD We’re gonna go get it Monday. I just hope they can give me my CD back. *nervous*

I set up this fake account in Quicken so I could figure out what kind of stuff I buy … I’m not really done yet, I have to figure in my checking account … and I know I’m missing many receipts … but in the past 4 years and a half (because yes I am a freak and saved most all my receipts in that time), I’ve spent the most on … well that would be education (over $1000), but ignoring that one … the most I’ve spent on is … anime and anime merchandise!!! Is that such a big surprise? :b Over six hundred freaking dollars! But keep in mind that DVDs and artbooks cost mucho bucks. Also, I probably bought a lot of music online that I don’t have a recording for, so it wasn’t counted in … I spent about $300 each on CDs, manga, and books. I don’t remember the number for comics, but it’s probably lower than it should be as well, since I don’t have recordings for about half the Sandman comics I bought (five of them, each being about $20). I think I spent $100 on clothes, but that is veeery skewed since Mum and Daddy pay for my clothes. hehe. ^^

Anyway … that was probably boring to everyone else but me. Oh well. *grin*

Karen Oh layout

The scrolly bar on the very right won’t go away. ;_;

And and my face is all dirty and it’s kinda hot and I’m not really tired but I will be in 12 hours and … I don’t want to go to chem.

I think I’ve also lost all emotional ties to this site. Dang Endore.

And I can’t find a song that I heard on the radio … I don’t even remember any of the lyrics. I don’t know why I want the song, really, it didn’t blow me away or anything …

And the scrolly bar won’t go away. ;_;

(Tonight was a very frustrating night.)
